Future Events at Redcoats Farmhouse Hotel, Hitchin, Herts
March 2008 newsletter
Here is our long overdue Redcoats
Newsletter. Christmas and New Year were a great success once again and yes, we
have opened the Christmas 2008 ‘page’, so please don’t leave booking until the
last moment
We were very proud to host the
Silver Wedding Anniversary Lunch Party for a couple who had their Wedding
Reception at Redcoats on 12th February 1983.
We have gorgeous Norfolk Mussels
and Oysters on the menu at the moment and although the Game season is over
we still have our Finnebrogue Venison which is as popular as ever, and now you
can buy it from selected shops. Check it out at http://www.finnebrogue.com/
Gemini Fish has re-opened in
Codicote under the name of La Marina. Paula and Mark Cozzi are in the process
of building up their business selling fish , unfortunately for us not into the
Restaurant trade!.
It seems a long time ago now, but
in conjunction with Hunters and Frankau www.cigars.co.uk we managed to raise £600 on our last day of smoking. The
money raised is being given to the Garden house hospice
Redcoats is now doing its bit for
the environment. In conjunction with Cawleys www.cawleys.co.uk
of Luton we are recycling all glass, paper, cardboard and even the waste food
is going in to a digester. This is then converted in to electricity and feed
back in to the National Grid.
Small price increase on lunch and
supper menus - sorry about that.!.

the signing of the Magna Carta Or 91 years since our Grandparents bought the
house Or just any old reason. Who needs a reason anyway? Tickets will be
available soon.
Scott’s Cookery Mornings have
been quite a success. The cost would be £80.00 You are given a morning in the
kitchens under the supervision of Scott and then you can invite a guest to
join you for lunch which you may well have prepared yourself.
After our sister Nikki died, the
staff made a generous collection for a memorial to her. It was hard to know
what to do but we eventually came up with the weathervane project! It is a long
story but the outcome was the fabulous Pheasant on top of the stable rooms. The
history behind it involved, a photograph from Eleuthera in the Bahamas, precision artwork from David Drew, a father & son blacksmiths in Brocket Hall
Woods and George, a painter & decorator with a ladder and no fear of
heights!!
If you are interested in any of
our events please let us know and we will send you details nearer the time.
We hope you come to see it soon.
