Walking & Cycling
There are many beautiful walks in the surrounding villages, with circular routes, public footpaths and bridleways leading you along the picturesque English country side. We have a collection of books on the area and maps of the routes.

We recommend the Broadway Cinema in Letchworth – an excellent, independant cinema showing many new releases as well as some classics. Alternatively the multiplex Cineworld Cinema in Stevenage has a greater selection, with 16 screens.
The Gordon Craig Theatre is in the centre of Stevenage, near the train station. The 501 seat theatre holds a varied program of live entertainment, ranging from one night variety shows to week long drama productions.
The Market Theatre located on Hitchin’s Sun Street is a smaller theatre location, however housing similar productions portraying both local and national talents.
The Queen Mother Theatre is situated in the heart of historic Hitchin. It is a modern venue that has gained a reputation for offering a variety of professional and amateur productions.
Alternatively London’s west-end is only 30 minutes away by train.
Health & Fitness
The local swimming pools and gymnasium facilities are located in Stevenage, Letchworth and Hitchin. The Stevenage leisure Centre, the Hitchin Swimming Centre and the North Herts Leisure Centre in Letchworth all have leisure and lane swimming open for public use, seven days a week. There are also a number of spas, gyms and treatment locations in the surrounding area, however booking in advance may be necessary for some of the beauty salons.
