Sunday 3rd June – The Big Jubilee Lunch

Our ever popular Sunday lunch will be served all afternoon. We are taking bookings from 11.30 until 4.30. This is a great opportunity to spend some quality time with your friends and family and eat some delicious British dishes.

Tuesday 5th June – Jubilee Afternoon Tea

We will be offering a special jubilee afternoon tea from midday until 4.00pm which will include:

• A starter of your choice from our lunch menu
• A classic selection of finger sandwiches – cucumber / ham and mustard / egg mayonnaise with cress
• An assortment of cakes and homemade fruit scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam
• Your choice from our range of teas or freshly ground coffee

The jubilee afternoon tea costs just £20 per person or £25 including a glass of prosecco / prosecco royale. Our normal £15 afternoon tea menu (as above but without a starter) will also be available

Doug Harrison – a notable wine expert, a chevalier (or knight) of some of the finest wine producing regions in France and a Freeman of the City of London – will be taking us through some fine wines from Beaujolais. I am also delighted to tell you that Pardon et Fils have again won Gold at last year’s Trofee Lyon Beaujolais Nouveau competition. So, that’s Gold or Silver won by their Beaujolais Villages Nouveau every year for the past 11 years. M Pardon will be with us on Friday, you lucky people!!

We will be trying 6 wines, including two versions of Brouilly for a like-for-like comparison.

Scott will be serving a 5-course tasting menu with each dish carefully matched with each of the wines.

Jo at Nyetimber- www.nyetimber.com was my first port of call, with a sparkling Chardonnay, then a Blanc de Blancs, both delicious. Camel Valley- www.camelvalley.com – next with a wonderful 3 grape sparkling wine. On to Rose and back to Nyetimber for their 2008.

Wandering down the tables of wines I found Giffords Hall Vineyard – www.giffordshall.co.uk and their delicious 2011 Rose, and then Stanlake Park – www.stanlakepark.com with their lovely Bacchus.
For any of you that hasn’t tried English wines, now is the time. We will have some on the list very soon.

If so join our loyalty club and we will issue you with a £40 gift voucher for use against anything we do. Every qualifying night you stay with us* make sure you get your voucher stamped. Once you have stayed for 10 qualifying nights this will validate your voucher.

This will be valid for use for 12 months from the date of the first stay on the card. Once validated the voucher can be given as a gift, however until this point it is non-transferrable.

We will then issue you with a new voucher and you can then restart the process.

You must get a receipt from the taxi driver and present this to us within 1 week of your meal to receive your reimbursement
We will reimburse you for the cost of your taxi journey from Redcoats to either Stevenage or Hitchin town centres, or a journey of the same value. Maximum value of £7.50.
You must spend a minimum of £75 in the restaurant (excluding gratuity) for us to reimburse one taxi journey or over £150 for us to reimburse two taxis. No more than 2 taxis per party.
