Theatre Break

We have 3 great Theatres near to us so a two day break with a visit to one of them is not to be missed. We have a 2 night break in one of our Classic double bedded rooms, which includes a marvellous dinner on one night AND a bottle of Fizz- Prosecco or Cava, in your room on your arrival, at an excellent price of £120 per person!(Total £240 for two nights with Dinner for both of you on one of the nights) .You can upgrade to a bigger room from £35 (depending on the larger room you choose), and for another £18 we will turn the Fizz into Champagne. I bet you have always wanted to do that!!

Our very successful Lunch weekly menu is normally a 2 course affair at £18, but we realise that sometimes a main course is enough, so we have priced up the main courses for you. Of course our bar menu, that includes most of the starter dishes, can still be eaten in the bar or Old Kitchen.

Burns Night Supper Friday 25th January

Join us for supper to celebrate Burns Night. We have a good selection of malt whisky for the obligatory ‘wee dram’. Scott has put together some delicious Scottish dishes – £35 per person for 3 courses. For an additional £70 you could have overnight accommodation on Friday night or £90 to include a full English or Scottish (if you would like it with haggis) breakfast.

Cuba Holiday

I had a marvellous holiday in Cuba last month, and the reason I want to chat about it is an acquaintance has just come back from there as well and hated it.Strange I thought, but then we are two very different people. He decided to go to Havana, avoid the peeling paint etc, and then quickly on to the resort area.
We spent time meeting and dining with the residents of the peeling and slightly delapidated houses, and had a great time.The lovely girl who rolled our cigars for us was, I reckon, about 80 so the virgin myth needs correcting!!
We met and saw more famous people on that holiday than ever before. On the flight over Mervyn King told us of the busy time ahead in Mexico City, and promised to stay at Redcoats on his retirement. We then collided with Joe Biden, the US Vice President. Not much conversation with him, but lots with his staff!(too many to count) My mobile stoped working when he was around, funny that. Then we flew back with T P-T, our very own English socialite. No conversation there either, as she was asleep for most of the flight.
