Cuba Holiday

I had a marvellous holiday in Cuba last month, and the reason I want to chat about it is an acquaintance has just come back from there as well and hated it.Strange I thought, but then we are two very different people. He decided to go to Havana, avoid the peeling paint etc, and then quickly on to the resort area.
We spent time meeting and dining with the residents of the peeling and slightly delapidated houses, and had a great time.The lovely girl who rolled our cigars for us was, I reckon, about 80 so the virgin myth needs correcting!!
We met and saw more famous people on that holiday than ever before. On the flight over Mervyn King told us of the busy time ahead in Mexico City, and promised to stay at Redcoats on his retirement. We then collided with Joe Biden, the US Vice President. Not much conversation with him, but lots with his staff!(too many to count) My mobile stoped working when he was around, funny that. Then we flew back with T P-T, our very own English socialite. No conversation there either, as she was asleep for most of the flight.
