About us

We (Jackie Gainsford and brother, Peter Butterfield) established the hotel in the early 1970s, with help from our late sister, Nicki, and late uncle, John.

Having been lucky enough to grow up in such a special and much loved home, we felt that this unique place so cherished by our family should be experienced and enjoyed by others.

John’s daughter (our cousin) Toby has provided us with ongoing support as a non-executive director for many years

In 2010 Jackie’s son Ben joined the team as general manager and in 2012 was appointed to the board as a managing director

In 2012 Guy Bowman joined the board as chairman
