We (Jackie Gainsford and brother, Peter Butterfield) established the hotel in the early 1970s, with help from our late sister, Nicki, and late uncle, John. Having been lucky enough to grow up in such a special and much loved home, we felt that this unique place so cherished by our family should be experienced and enjoyed by others.
John’s daughter (our cousin) Toby has provided us with ongoing support as a non-executive director for many years.
In 2010 Jackie’s son Ben joined the team as general manager and in 2012 was appointed to the board as a managing director.
In 2012 Guy Bowman joined the board as chairman.
We are a family business. We endeavor to make sure that our staff and our guests are made to feel part of that family from the moment you arrive.
We are a customer focused company. We strive to provide you with a professional service as all times, pay attention to the small details, be flexible and create the ‘right’ image and ambience throughout your stay with us.
We are proud to offer you a premium product and a unique setting. We accept that this means we are a little more expensive but we listen to our customers to make sure that you feel we are providing you with excellent value for money.
